New Romeo and Juliet Show Comes to High Point

Point NC” width=”489″ height=”306″ />Theatre lovers visiting the Piedmont Triad Region in September can not miss the Main Stage production of Romeo and Juliet. The Romeo and Juliet production will run from September 9-30, 2012 at the High Point Theatre located on East Commerce Ave., only 18 minutes from Ashford Suites High Point.

After a cut in state financial support, the production of Romeo and Juliet brings back the NC Shakespeare Festival to the Piedmont Triad. Visitors and residents of North Carolina have welcomed the innovative and contemporary version of the timeless story of Romeo and Juliet with open arms.

Be prepared to experience a story that has survived four centuries because it deals with “Timeless themes such as love, retribution, hope and loss, which never go out of style,” says

artistic and managing director Pedro Silva. Silva’s interpretation has remained true to the period text but claims a more contemporary setting that will be relevant to the audiences of today. Silva says that the new Main Stage production of Romeo and Juliet will “Inspire audiences to discover it all over again.”
